What is the AU Tournament of Topics?
The AU Tournament of Topics (ToT) is a fun way for you to tell us which topics you’re most interested in learning about at AU Las Vegas 2016. Plus, it’s a chance to explore new topics that might interest you—broadening your horizons is always a good thing, right? The tournament includes multiple rounds of topic matchups, plus the semifinal and final, so be sure to vote in each.
How will the tournament outcome affect class content at AU 2016?
We’ll feature a wide range of classes and labs at AU like we always do, including classes on all of the topics that entered the tournament. With the Call for Proposals (CFP) opening on April 27, we’re especially interested to know which topics you’re most excited to dive into in November.
Do I need to register to vote?
Nope—all you have to do is click the “Vote Now” tab below your favorite topics. It’s that easy.
How often can I vote?
You can vote as many times as you like in each of the rounds—there’s no limit. The more times you vote, the more likely your favorite topics will advance. So vote early, and vote often. The tournament ends on April 27.
How else can I join the fun?
Follow along on Twitter with #AUToT,or visit our blog to see the matchups and winners for each round.
Where can I learn more about these topics?
To explore classes related to any of the tournament topics, visit the AU online learning page and type the topic into the search field. Online classes are available anytime, and they’re always free.
When will the winner be announced?
The AU Tournament of Topics ends on April 27 when we’ll announce the winner—just in time for the opening of this year’s Call for Proposals (CFP). If you’ve got a great idea for an AU class on any tournament topic (or any other relevant topic), we’d love to hear from you. Visit the CFP page to learn more.
