Speaker Biography Guidelines and Examples
To ensure your biography is accepted, it must meet the following requirements.
- Keep your biography brief — no more than 75 – 100 words. Bios that exceed the allowed length will be returned for editing.
- Include your current position and a brief mention of work history and experience that is relevant to your session topic and audience (the focus is on brief and relevant).
- Include academic qualifications, awards, and a reference to published work, but only if applicable to the material you are presenting.
Examples of Acceptable Biographies
Lynn Allen
Lynn is the worldwide Technical Evangelist for Autodesk and speaks to more than 30,000 users each year. She is also a CADalyst columnist. For the past 14 years, Lynn has written a monthly magazine column called "Circles and Lines." She started using AutoCAD software with Release 1.4, almost 20 years ago. She also taught at the corporate and collegiate level for 14 years. Her latest book is entitled AutoCAD Inside and Out.
Nate Bartley
Nate has worked for Autodesk for over 12 years, most recently as a quality assurance engineer on the interoperability team specializing in network and operating system issues. As an Autodesk software user since 1984, he has used, trained, tested, and supported AutoCAD and AutoCAD-based products. Before joining Autodesk, he was a CAD manager for a small architectural firm in San Jose, California. Nate earned his B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Michael Schlosser
Mike is geospatial project manager for Autodesk Canada. With 13 years of experience, he is an expert in the design, development, and implementation of GIS systems. He has worked with a wide variety of clients on their geospatial and web-mapping implementations, including telecommunications firms, utilities, transportation, and government departments. He is skilled in project management, creating GIS-based simulations and demonstrations, and developing innovative solutions to business problems. Mike is also a skilled educator and trainer whose works are published in both trade and academic publications.
Steve Williams
Based in New York City, Steve provides customized consulting, training, and implementation services to project teams using Autodesk Buzzsaw. Since joining buzzsaw.com in 2000, he has successfully implemented online collaboration within a wide variety of companies including Toys 'R' Us, Weyerhaeuser, and KB Home. Steve holds a Master of Engineering Management degree and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Duke University. This is Steve's third year as a presenter at Autodesk University.
