AU Online Screencasts Now Available

AU 2007 may be over, but the learning continues. As a registered attendee, you get free access to AU Online where you can view recorded screencasts of almost 300 sessions from this year's conference—including classes you were not able to attend in person.  Here are a few session teasers for which we recorded screencasts. The screencasts will be available within a few days.

To find screencasts go to the Autodesk University Sessions page and use the Search Sessions section to find sessions by speaker, track, or keyword. Then click on the Session Name to access class handouts and other class materials.

AU 2007 screencasts are available to all attendees of this year’s conference and Autodesk subscription customers. Class materials and AU 2006 screencasts are available to all registered AU community members.

  • Site will not allow me to view the screencasts. I am forwarded to autodesk.mediasite.com. It will not accept my AU username and password. There is nowhere to sign up either :(

  • I have the same problem. What is Mediasite?

Posted by John Campbell on December 2, 2007 12:15 pm

  • When is autodesk going to consolidate their usernames and passwords instead of this endless proliferation of user accounts?

Posted by John Campbell on December 2, 2007 12:53 pm

  • All, The 10-min intro clips to some of the 300 plus screencasts are now viewable without login. Full screencasts will be availble next week - you have to login to AU Online - using your AU account (or through subscription). Once you are logged in to your AU account (or sub center) you do not need login to view the screencasts. (Mediasite is the company that hosts the screencasts)

  • I just tried a direct link from a "sessions" page while logged into AU Site - my name was visible under the "Welcome" area - and no luck on playing the session. Mediasite is asking for a user name and password. It looks like Mediasite webpage is not not recognizing the AU Site logins.

Posted by Brett Gatti on December 2, 2007 4:59 pm

  • Brett --- Mediasite is not ready to be accessed - hence the login screen. As soon as we have confirmed sessions, an updated will be made and you will be able to login. You are doing everything right and you will have access within the next few days.

  • Thanks, I missed that part of your prior post.

  • Will I be able to use the same username and password to view the screencasts as I use to login to the AU website, or will I have to create an additional username and password?

Posted by David Woodward on December 5, 2007 3:29 pm

  • Same username and password you used/created to register for AU will give you access to the screencasts. If you create a new UN/PW you will only see handouts and will not hvae access to the screencasts. use the forgot UN/PW feature if you can not remember. I have seen quit a few AU attendees that just created a new account and ended up with 2 or 3 account - but only the AU login (or login through subscription) will give you full access.

Posted by Joseph Wurcher on December 5, 2007 9:46 pm

  • I am have logged into the AU website with no problems and I am able to download the handouts if I wanted to, but unfortunately I'm not given the option to view the screencast. Please advise, thank you.

Posted by Kolicia Caines on December 6, 2007 4:50 pm

  • Hi Kolicia, Did you attend AU 2007 and did you login using UN/PW you created when you registered for the event? Right now, only AU 2007 attendees have access to 2007 screencasts.

Posted by Joseph Wurcher on December 6, 2007 5:40 pm

  • I attended AU 2007 and I am using the login & password I created for registration.

Posted by Kolicia Caines on December 7, 2007 12:26 pm

  • STILL no access to the screencasts, although some folks have been able to get in. Using my AU ID as instructed. Is this one of those things that won't play nice with Firefox?

Posted by Raymond Gorman on December 11, 2007 8:47 am

  • Nope- doesn't play with IE either...

Posted by Raymond Gorman on December 11, 2007 8:50 am

  • I can't access any screencasts. I'm logged in, but nothing. There are some classes that I really want to see again.

Posted by Joel Venegas on December 11, 2007 12:34 pm

  • I can't view any of the screencasts as well. I did notice that when I go to a class, this is posted at the bottom, "You must be a 2007 AU attendee to post questions." if that helps.... Shawn

  • i cant view screencasts as well, i'm logged in, my name appears int the welcome, can download the pdf handouts but no video?????????

Posted by David Hansen* on December 12, 2007 3:34 am

  • Ditto here for not being able to view screencasts while logged in. I also can download the pdfs, and I get the Welcome messagein the top right, and I also get the "You must be a 2007 AU" note at the bottom of the sessions.

Posted by Jason Lavoie on December 12, 2007 8:55 am

  • Can you please reset my permissions also? Thanks

Posted by Tim Turner on December 12, 2007 12:44 pm

  • Okay, I have the same problem. I can get the handouts, but have no way of accessing the screencasts. I am guessing that my permissions also need to be reset. Thanks.

Posted by David Richter on December 12, 2007 2:54 pm

  • hi - I appear to have the same issue, handouts appear but not screencasts. I am looking specifically for those in the AliasStudio power track. Thanks!

Posted by Noah Murphy-Reinhertz on December 12, 2007 3:25 pm

  • I still cannot access the screencasts. It sounds like some people can see the screencasts, if they get their user permissions reset. I am an AU2007 attendee. I would like to get my permissions reset also, if that will allow me to see the screencasts. Thanks.

Posted by David Woodward on December 12, 2007 3:56 pm

  • I happen to have the same problem which is not having access to all the screencasts online though I can download the handouts. Could you please reset my user permission? I really want to watch some screencasts after reading through the class materials.

Posted by Eric Yan on December 12, 2007 4:43 pm

  • All, If you attended AU 2007 and have trouble logging on, please email AU Web Manager james.caldwell@autodesk.com. Please provide your AU username (NOT password). Please make sure you are using the same UN/PW and/or email you used during AU registration. If you did not attend AU 2007, you have access to the handouts, presentation - and soon voice recordings of 300 sessions from this years' event. You also have full access to all 2006 materials. Subscription customers - need to go through the subscription center the first time to create their AU website login. If you don't come though the Sub center - you are not recognized by the site as a subscription customer and you will not see the screencasts. .

  • Are speaker handouts available on DVD to subscription customers? I did not complete the survey before leaving AU in order to get the DVD and t-shirt. I have completed the online survey and would like to receive the speaker handouts. Thanks...

Posted by Keith Biggs on December 28, 2007 12:54 pm

  • Like most of the people on this blog I can acess the handouts, but not the screencasts. I am not an Attendee, but am a subscription customer, which if I'm reading this right, entitles me to look at the screencasts. I used to be able to access the AU2006 screencasts, but now I can't access anything........somewhat annoying. I have tried to find a way to log in AU through the subscription centre, to no avail. Am I missing something?? After all that, May I wish you all a happy new year!

  • I still cannot access the screencasts online, and the "download screencasts" take forever to actually download. Is there ever going to be a resolution for me to be able to view the screencasts online - or am I just out of luck and downloading the screencasts will always be my only way to view?

Posted by David Woodward on January 3, 2008 2:56 pm
