  • Learn how to interconvert Revit to and from Microsoft Excel tools and in-house development program

Description

Description

This class will present the new structural design workflow based on Revit software as a core platform. It improves your work dramatically. This workflow makes it easy to manage all the data together, such as data sharing with other industries, drawing, structural analysis, and so on. You can connect the acquire information from Revit to others (for example, other industries and software) through Dynamo software. We'll focus on the design workflow across the departments-Revit Structure software and Revit MEP software. We'll look at some utilizations of Dynamo to connect Revit with other Autodesk products, like Robot Structural Analysis Professional software. We'll show how to interconvert Revit data to and from existing structural analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel and in-house development programs. And we'll cover how to draw a structural drawing and how to manage it with Revit and Dynamo. This session will explore the above techniques as they have been used for actual building projects.

Hideki Takei

Hideki Takei is the structural engineer for the NIHON SEKKEI, Inc. He began studying the "Structural optimization" with Fortran programming in 2009 at Hosei University. His professional career in Architecture started in 2010. He has designed from "high rise buildings with seismic control system" to "row rise buildings with base isolated system". He has been trying to improve efficiency of structural design using VBA etc.Since he encountered Revit and Dynamo, he has been creating several tools for structural design. He set up “Dynamo working grope” in NIHON SEKKEI and he has led other structural engineers with the utilization of visual programing and algorithmic structural design. He is engaged in development of the design automation algorithm with MEP. In this lecture, he hopes to share what he and co-workers created.

Yoshikazu Sugiura

Yoshikazu Sugiura is the structural engineer of the Design Department at NIHON SEKKEI, INC, a multi-disciplinary design firm in Japan. His professional career in Architecture started in 2005. He has designed “Mixed-use High-rise Tower with offices, conference facilities, retail outlets and a hotel”, “Arena for the Olympic games Tokyo 2020” and other industries. He has also joined the Technology Innovation Group. He is developing several tools for structural design using Dynamo and C# and so on.
