In this class, Kevin O'Connor from Parsons Corporation and Rick Larson from Autodesk will define augmented reality (AR) and how it differs from mixed reality and virtual reality; review current state of AR; identify use cases for AR in infrastructure; review best practices to prepare an InfraWorks model and scenario for use in the InfraWorks iPad application; demonstrate AR using the InfraWorks iPad application; and discuss use of AR to display proposed models for a rail project.

Kevin Oconnor

Kevin O’Connor is a Technical staff manager of xD Infrastructure Services with Parsons.He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Central Florida and a registered engineer in the state of Florida.He has a range of design experience including Highway design, aviation design and Rail.He is currently providing firm wide training, support and implementation of the xD design services with a focus major design build projects world wide.

Rick Larson

Rick is a 1986 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville and a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin. He spent 24 years at Wisconsin DOT where he worked in Highway Design and Construction, eventually managing WisDOT's Design Computer Aided Engineering with the Methods Development Team. He has been at Autodesk since 2011 and is a Technical Account Manager in Major Accounts.
