This session will highlight the key challenges facing additive manufacturers. The machines and materials for 3D printing are expensive, and the process is slow in comparison to moulding or casting. By carefully selecting parts that are suitable for printing, and optimising parts for maximum strength and minimum weight, additive manufacturers can succeed by making unique parts that cannot be made any other way.
