Description

Description

This class will illustrate and explain how using the various platforms of Revit software can help you to retool and upgrade your facility management process. We will examine how the third-largest pediatric hospital in the United States decided to change the “cradle to cradle” process of their design, construction, and long-term facility management process. You will see and understand examples of this process in action, the cost savings, the long-term benefits, and the lessons learned encountered. Participants will see how this facility is beginning the process of going to a fully digital system where information is created and exchanged by all stakeholders: architect, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and eventually the Facility Team—enabling a more efficient and accurate maintenance of building system data. This process enables workflows to be streamlined and overall project costs reduced. This session features Revit and A360. AIA Approved

DAVE BRANCH

Dave Branch is the facility documentation management manager for Children’s of Alabama. He has over 23 years of commercial design, construction, and project management experience. Prior to coming to work directly with Children’s of Alabama, he worked in various architectural firms in Georgia and Alabama. He also worked for a large-scale general contractor in Birmingham. It is this experience that enabled him to develop Children’s of Alabama facility documentation management process, and the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with their ongoing facility management process. Branch manages the design and construction process of the various capital projects ongoing at Children’s, manages the integrated facility management software with the BIM process, and trains the maintenance staff on using a fully digital environment. He is a passionate advocate of BIM and facility management, and he has spoken at various healthcare events and written several articles on how other organizations can follow the same process.
