In this class, we will use the Grand Paris Express project linking the suburbs of Paris by metro to showcase the workflows that enable project success. We will demonstrate solutions for the unique requirements of Building Information Modeling (BIM)-ready tunnel projects from predesign to construction, including accurate existing conditions, reality capture, dynamic object systems, extended attribution, subsurface geology awareness, excavation phasing, interoperation with coordinate systems and sloped geometry, level of development (LOD) progression, structural steel and rock bolt layouts, and quantities surveys. Enterprise Priority Support has worked directly with some of the collaborating engineering firms on the Grand Paris to mentor the use of ReCap 360 software, InfraWorks 360 software, Revit software, and AutoCAD Civil 3D software in order to attain efficient and streamlined workflows across multiple software platforms and engineering disciplines, guaranteeing project success and models ready for BIM. This session features AutoCAD Civil 3D, InfraWorks 360, and Revit Structure. AIA Approved
A great design is not just about mixing engineering standards with the owner’s vision of what they would like to build. When meeting with owners and other stakeholders who may not appreciate the finer points of road and site design, it always comes down to cost. Every really great design balances the need to deliver the best engineering design that fits the owner’s vision with accurate cost analysis for decision making. From concept proposal to detailed design to construction management, Autodesk, Inc., products have made it easier than ever for engineers and designers to do their job of delivering projects using improved CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows. This unique class will review key workflows required to perform an accurate “cost of works” analysis of your detailed design in real time to improve decision making during design and ultimately streamline the construction bid preparation and management process after approvals. This session features AutoCAD Civil 3D, InfraWorks 360, and Navisworks Manage. AIA Approved
This class will focus on basic workflows in Stingray game engine to get your project into Stingray game engine for visualization. We will focus on what you need to do to prep your data and convert your design data to a Stingray project. You will discover the pitfalls to avoid, and you’ll get to an interactive model quickly. And we will cover basic interaction. The class will assume you have familiarity with 3ds Max software and either InfraWorks 360 software or AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Both are preferred. This session features Autodesk Stingray, 3ds Max, and InfraWorks 360. AIA Approved
Wales, Alaska, is the most westerly inhabited village in North America. Having easy access to the site is not feasible if you should happen to forget what it looks like—not to mention that it’s covered in snow for 75% of the year. So let’s build a road over 10 miles of permafrost with the use of 12,000 acres of LiDAR (light detection and ranging) data. Using InfraWorks 360 software, we’ll work in 4D and adjust the road location over the permafrost. Then we’ll use InfraWorks 360 Hydrology to determine the watersheds and culvert locations, and size them for us. This session features InfraWorks 360 and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
The Future of Making Bridges is not so much about the destination, but the journey. This roundtable discussion focuses on that journey in the pursuit of a total end to end Autodesk® solution for design and implementation of atypical bridges. Attendees can learn and share their own experiences on their bridge journeys. Discover the best practices and limitations experienced on each other’s journeys. Learn about the key to this solution is the ability for all software including Infraworks, Revit, Project Kameleon and Structural Bridge Design to exchange and communicate data seamlessly with the goal of reducing production cost, compressing project timeline, mitigating risk and improving the overall quality of the end product.

Joining us in this exciting roundtable discussion will be Ara Ashikian—Bridges Product Manager. This session features InfraWorks 360. The roundtable discussion will be facilitated by Drew Olsen the Senior Industry Strategy Manager for Transportation, ISM-AEC & Cross-Industry Strategy and Marketing.
Welcome to Subassembly Composer for AutoCAD Civil 3D software! This is a lab for those that have utilized AutoCAD Civil 3D software for some time, but are interested in figuring out how to take their corridors to a whole new level. We will develop subassemblies you can put to work as soon as you're home, and give you a methodology for creation that will make your co-workers think you're a professional software developer. Specifically, we will begin by diving into good subassembly design practices, taken directly from our friends in the software development industry. The subassemblies we'll build together in this lab are particularly relevant to those in the land development industry, but they have direct value for those designing with corridors in AutoCAD Civil 3D software. This lab will also touch on how to harness the capabilities of the Subassembly Composer to utilize InfraWorks 360 software for design visualization. Consider this class the introduction to the course I taught last year for those in the aviation design industry. This session features AutoCAD Civil 3D and InfraWorks 360.
Reality-capture technologies—such as 3D laser scanning, mobile and aerial LiDAR (light detection and ranging), and drone photogrammetry—are becoming the normal practice for site surveying instead of the traditional labor-intensive method. How to specify the scope of work for the surveyors and drone operators may result in the different levels of useful data to be digitalized in Building Information Modeling (BIM) / 3D modeling platforms with an efficient process. The class will focus on the workflows used for developing information models out from the laser scans for the treatment industry in the United States and the United Kingdom. We will discuss a variety of workflow options using data captured from scan information using drones and laser scans and validation of the scan data into ReCap software, processing data in Edgewise for auto detection of pipes, and importing the processed data to Revit software for further modeling. This session features Revit, InfraWorks 360, and Navisworks Manage. AIA Approved
This panel will discuss the achievements and challenges of the successful Intercity rail project in Norway. The panel will include Building Information Modeling (BIM) experts from the fields of design, construction, and government who will all share their perspectives on this highly collaborative, fast-paced project. Intercity is a 250-plus km rail project with both new and existing right of ways passing through dozens of municipalities and multiple other jurisdictions. In each jurisdiction, there are different stakeholders and variable legal considerations for cultural, historic, environmental, social, and esthetic standards, all of which were addressed via InfraWorks 360 software representations. The project has been split into sections, each being designed by a different company or partnership, so collaboration between sections and the Rail administration has been key to their success. This session features InfraWorks 360. AIA Approved
While the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) has grown massively in recent years, too frequently it appears to start from the ground up with the geology and subsurface being ignored. This is a significant omission, as the whole premise of BIM is to reduce costs by reducing risk at the early design stage and throughout the lifetime of the project. This class will look at how the core BIM principles of data sharing, collaboration, and process can be used and applied to the geotechnical process, illustrated with the case study: Silvertown Road Tunnel. It will highlight the use of tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D software and InfraWorks software, together with HoleBASE SI, to enable the combination of information from previous projects together with a wide range of other data sources, maps, drawings, and models. This leads to a better understanding of the site and improved processes to model and visualize geology and subsurface data with the wider team, which will ultimately help to reduce risk and save money. This session features AutoCAD Civil 3D and InfraWorks 360. AIA Approved
