AutoCAD DWG™ files are widely used in many industries today, and Forge Platform provides REST APIs to unlock the data inside them, or to create new ones. This class will show you how to securely connect Forge Platform to various data-storage services where your DWG files reside. We will demonstrate how to access a database while processing a DWG file, a critical piece for many customers who have embed database keys in their DWG files. This session features Forge and AutoCAD. Collaboration in construction is challenging. How can you organize the quality in data and geometry with all these different parties and models? Which software do you use to check your model: Navisworks or Solibri. An IFC workflow with Solibri provides you insights in the different clashes and the possibility to check in a rule based manner. But how do you create reports and collaborate with team members? Does Navisworks manage a more better workflow with more possibilities for everybody? With Navisworks you are free of file format. It is easy to append and update Revit, IFC, rcp or dwg files to a federated model in one single file. Checking model geometry, duplicates and data in a standardized way with Collaborea. It is the rulebased modelchecker for Naviswork. A report is no longer necessary because all the issues are visible and editable on a Cloud platform using Autodesk Forge. Checking and collaborating becomes easy and editing the models in an Autodesk workflow is simple.
Take your Forge applications to the next level with the newly introduced Forge Webhooks API. Webhooks are an industry standard mechanism for subscribing to 'event notifications', allowing you to streamline and simplify your Forge workflows and leverage leading integration services such as Jitterbit, Zapier and Mulesoft. In this class we'll show you everything you need to get started with this simple but powerful tool.
This presentation will cover the transformation of the business model of imos AG. imos AG started as a CAD/CAM software developer specialising in the furniture and woodworking industries. Today their approach is to cover the whole value chain from point of sale through to production, where web based technology is used to integrate the consumer into the information management. After introducing the specific requirements of the furniture market and the software solutions that imos AG has developed, the presentation will concentrate on the usage of Autodesk technology. The first products imos AG developed were on AutoCAD or AutoCAD OEM. Then imos AG developed their own web based technology. Today Forge is used inside a web based product configuration software. The plan is to integrate Forge into more products. The final part of the presentation will cover two customer examples where Forge technology is used to enable the information flow between consumer experience and production control.
This class will provide a walkthrough of application development using the Autodesk Forge and Amazon Web Services. We will discuss developer tools and the steps required to go from the inception of an idea to an application running in production. We will discuss scaling, DevOps, security, and user management. (Joint AU/Forge DevCon class).
Learn from an engineer's perspective how 3DR-a drone technology company-leveraged the Forge API and more to build Site Scan, the leading drone data platform for construction and engineering professionals.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Nick Speal, a software engineer at 3DR, will explain the technology behind Site Scan, discuss the challenges and opportunities in creating software for AEC, and show how the new BIM 360 Forge APIs are helping 3DR customers keep data in sync across their team. For those who are looking to bring new technologies on-site and take advantage of reality capture data, this will be an insightful session on how drones came to take the industry by storm-and where they're going next.
This talk will focus on recent work on how to build immersive experiences with support for collaboration. We will focus on three aspects of collaboration:A) Capture of human (e)motion B) visualization of captured data C) network distribution of data.We will illustrate these aspects using prototypes that we constructed over the past year. And we will demonstrate how these prototypes led to various pilot projects and how they utilize Autodesk Forge. (Joint AU/Forge DevCon class).
Integrating Fusion 360 with Forge can be a really powerful way to streamline your existing processes. <br/><br/>In this class, we will provide an introduction to both the Forge and Fusion 360 API's and will explain how you can get started with implementing workflows using both Fusion 360 and Forge.
You’ve heard the buzz about this exciting new Autodesk platform called Forge. But what exactly is Forge? Forge is a platform of web service APIs that allow you to integrate Autodesk SaaS products (such as Fusion Team, BIM 360 Docs, etc.) into your workflows and/or to embed some of the components used in those Autodesk products into your own web or mobile applications. In this presentation I will explain in more detail what Forge is (and what it isn’t) - and show you examples of how to use Forge to enhance your on workflows and applications. This class is suitable for software developers, CAD & IT managers and decision makers.
This class will help you kick start and accelerate your development on the Forge platform by demonstrating best practice workflows and tips & tricks for managing REST API calls and consuming JSON data. Examples will include uses of the Model Derivative API, Data Management API (including accessing data in BIM 360 Docs), Authentication API and Design Automation API. Prior knowledge in Web and Cloud development is recommended.
This class will present how project teams can collaborate to develop information on a BIM project. We will initially look at setting up a plan of work to give clarity on which team members are delivering what information and when. Following this we will look at how designers can develop their designs using standardised BIM objects in Revit. Practical examples will then be given on how to link these objects digitally to the associated specification to better coordinate this information and reduce risk. We will finish by exploring the role of the cloud and big data in future workflows and show practical examples of how the Forge platform can accelerate this. Stephen was part of the team that developed the UK government’s BIM Level 2 standards and tools. As director of research and innovation at NBS, he has been fundamental in developing the products that led to NBS being the first UK Autodesk Solution Associate in 2016.
Document management and control for construction is an ever-evolving challenge. Trying to meet standards, naming conventions, and the approval process all provide challenges of their own. BIM 360 Docs software gives us one piece of the puzzle and Forge software is the other. GRAITEC has been researching and experimenting with both BIM 360 Docs and Forge to automate the process of controlling where documents and drawings sit in the approval process within a common data environment, to meet various standards such as PAS 1192 in the United Kingdom. This course describes the journey and adventure of using Forge for the first time to meet a growing demand in the industry. Come and experience the thrills and spills encountered by the GRAITEC developers as they dove head first into this new and uncharted world of APIs and web services. Join in on the fun and the conversation of developing workflows between BIM 360 products using Forge, and learn how to get started with Forge to open up endless possibilities.
With all kinds of different VR devices released to the market, the concept of VR/AR/MR is becoming increasingly popular, but it's still an expensive experience. Is there any way to make the VR experience more accessible, and easier for your customers? WebVR provides a good solution. This class will introduceWebVR and show you some cool demos to help you get a quick project started with the technology, There are several frameworks you can start with, and even mix together - we will discuss some of these, including Three.js, the Autodesk Forge Viewer, and ReactVR. The class will show live demos, and the code behind the different examples.
