So much different software is installed with Factory Design Suite that it can be hard for a user to know where to start. This class will examine the entire workflow of Factory Design Suite, and show you the use of different software systems that are installed on your machine. You will learn how to use the Autodesk 360 cloud-computing platform to quickly get the 2D layout data from the sales engineer at a client site and then provide him with a completed 3D layout with Factory Design Suite (which is in sync with the 2D layout). We will discuss in detail how Revit software interoperability enables the factory buildings to be used in Inventor software for flawless completion of factory layouts from concept to completion. Finally, we will explore Augmented Reality to discover how planners and engineers are using it to visualize and review virtual factories. This session features Factory Design Utilities, Inventor Professional, and Navisworks Factory Advanced. AIA Approved
Factory Layout Designers who need to learn about the FDS workflow that reduces and errors and improves the efficiency.
Deepak Maini is a qualified mechanical engineer who has more than 18 years of experience working with various CAD software. He is currently working as the product manager of BIM/MFG Solutions with Cadgroup Australia. He is a regular speaker at Autodesk University in Las Vegas, and was given the Top Rated Speaker status at Autodesk University 2014 and Autodesk University 2015. Maini is also one of the lead presenters showcasing the latest Autodesk technology at various events all around Australia. In addition, he is regularly invited to present various Autodesk solutions at the user group events around Australia, and was invited as a speaker at The BIM Day Out in Perth. Maini is the author of the Up and Running with Autodesk Navisworks and Up and Running with Autodesk Advance Steel series of textbooks. He is also privileged to be the guest lecturer at University of Technology Sydney and University of New South Wales, 2 of the biggest universities in Australia.
With the industry changing at such a rapid pace, it was important for Multipond to move from using Autodesk Inventor Professional to the Factory Design Suite and future-proof the design process, in line with the future of manufacturing approach. This presentation will go through why and how Multipond’s UK project manager implemented Factory Design Suite into the business with their already complex Multihead Weighing series production lines. Multipond's Steve Sutherland will take the class through an in-depth, firsthand look at how Factory has impacted the Multipond design process, followed by a workflow presentation by Marc Pattinson covering Factory layouts and Navisworks using the Multipond completed dataset.
Autodesk Factory Design Utilities is an integrated layout and optimisation solution built specifically to help you design and communicate the most efficient layout by creating a digital model of your factory or other types of layout. Factory Design Utilities is part of the Autodesk Product Design Collection and includes tools for optimising 2D layouts, integrating 2D layout data with 3D models and facility components and creating 3D layout models with bidirectional 2D/3D associativity.
Reality capture techniques are becoming commonplace in many aspects of design. The factory layout process is no different. From the clean up and orientation of the point cloud to the possibility of using point clouds as factory assets, when it comes to utilizing point clouds with Factory Design Suite software, there is a lot to consider. Join us in this class as we focus on the various techniques and workflows for capitalizing on point clouds captures in the factory layout process. This session features the Factory Design Utilities, Autodesk Inventor, and ReCap.
The Factory Design Utilities offers unique functionality that greatly simplifies the process of laying out and visualizing a factory design. However, don't let the word "factory" limit the scope or your view of this application. Anyone who needs to lay out a space or design with a common collection of assets can take advantage of the workflow offered by Factory Design Utilities. In this class we will look at specific functionality available in Factory Design Utilities and demonstrate how we can use it in many other design workflows.
Maintaining an accurate facility layout can a big challenge. The drawings are normally out of date, and it can be a time-consuming task to get the measurements and update the drawings. All of these tasks are typically low-priority activities for most companies. Capturing the reality of your facility will demonstrate a workflow for going from scans of a facility to a 3D model. The class will demonstrate how you can use ReCap software to generate a point cloud of the scan data. Then we'll use point cloud utilities in AutoCAD software to generate sections of the point cloud. Finally, we'll use Factory Design Utilities software in Inventor software to locate equipment in the facility.
In this session, we'll cover a complete workflow based solely on Autodesk technology, from process planning to 2D-3D layout and 4D timeline management. Then we'll bring you into the virtual factory experience, meaning that you can experience the factory as if it was built already. Finally, we'll present the advanced manufacturing technologies for the factory of the future-technologies that are available today. At the end of the session, you'll understand how to set up integrated factory workflows, and you'll know the importance of process planning and the integration of an "as build" situation-which is very common and useful for avoiding collisions. Additionally, you'll know how to use virtual reality solutions to communicate the entire plan with stakeholders, and you'll understand how smart manufacturing is paving the way for agile manufacturing.
Remember the OTC 2016, Steve Blum present on the mainstage the biggest competitor replacement in Europe. We are replace more the 100 PTC seats including the data management by Scheuch in Austria. Now it´s time for a deep dive in the technical stuff. We will examine the interaction between the Factory Design Suite and the Product Design Suite together with Vault. The planning division needs a fast tool for a 3D offering process with Inventor and Navisworks. For this we create in the project a lot of factory assets based on the legacy data of the customer. Following of this step the team develop a solution with Vault for the connection of the planning and the engineering data. This session features Factory Design Utilities and Inventor Professional.
