Tomas Lendvorsky joined Autodesk, Inc., 10 years ago and currently is working as solution engineer, responsible for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) Autodesk portfolio in Eastern Europe. Tomas has a master’s degree in land surveying from Czech Technical University in Prague. For the past 20 years he has been working with different infrastructure designing products. His current role is to work with Autodesk partners and customers actively promoting the AEC portfolio. Civil engineering expertise helps him be actively involved in countryfication of the product in different countries, ensuring product suitability for each region. This course illustrates key new features and tools with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 software, InfraWorks 360 software, and Vehicle Tracking software. We will put on display data collaboration between software for Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows. Beginning with a preliminary design, in this class we will create, analyze, and edit design features such as roads, roundabouts, and bridges while collaborating with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 software. At the end of our lecture we will share our final design models to the cloud to be accessed by Autodesk 360 cloud-computing platform and InfraWorks 360 software web viewer. In addition, we will also animate our final design into a video presentation with 3ds Max Design software.
This class will show several tools from Autodesk, Inc.’s, toolbox for site grading. These tools will help with many types of tasks surface design, planning, and layout. They will save you time and money and give you a powerful visual so everyone can understand the obstacles and outcomes of site grading design. For an example, we will show you how to effectively link your finished ground surface to a sub grade surface so that it updates simultaneously. This class will cover many everyday tasks, and provide tips to help you accomplish them more efficiently and effectively. When finished with this class you will be able to grab a tool out of your toolbox, look at it, and think to yourself “I know I can use this tool for this task why wouldn’t it also work for this task in front of me?”
How many steps does it take you to fully design a roundabout after you’ve created your profiles and alignments? It can take as few as 3. In this class we’ll use 2 products to create alignments, profiles, and a fully designed roundabout. Vehicle Tracking is the solution to creating a corridor of a fully designed roundabout in AutoCAD Civil 3D software. We’ll cover best practices, workarounds, shortcuts, and the pros and cons of using Vehicle Tracking. You will also see examples of projects in which you can use a variety of products and methods for modifying roundabouts, and we’ll create a client presentation of the design for a project.
In this hands-on lab, you’ll learn how to generate parking lots, sweep vehicles around a site, and create a roundabout junction corridor. Step by step, you’ll learn how to choose a parking-lot style that is right for your site. Select the appropriate vehicle to check for turning movements and height clearances. Create a roundabout junction corridor to add to an existing AutoCAD Civil 3D software road corridor. You’ll also generate reports and customize the settings and standards for a specific project.
