Key Learning

Key Learning

  • Learn how to harness a true BIM for airports workflow
  • Learn how to build models to generate large-scale airport material quantities from Corridors
  • Learn unconventional Corridor techniques, including “reverse Assembly modeling”
  • Learn to handle a unique airfield design situation, while still creating dynamic Corridor models

Description

Description

Airport projects don’t fit into the typical AutoCAD Civil 3D software corridor workflows. And yet airfield designers require Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows just as much as, if not more than, conventional road designers. Designs have tighter tolerances, quantities are larger, and cross sections more complex. The challenge is in utilizing creative and sometimes unconventional corridor modeling methods, as well as configuring AutoCAD Civil 3D software appropriately. Led by a civil engineer with professional aviation design experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D software, this class will cover advanced strategies for modeling aviation projects with Corridors. We’ll look at unique assemblies, including the use of “reverse assembly modeling,” complex targeting, and atypical corridor baselines to model portions of runways, taxiways, intersections, and aprons. If you’ve struggled to get AutoCAD Civil 3D software to work for your aviation projects, this is the class for you!
