AutoCAD 2014 software saw greatly improved geolocation capabilities, including features such as a library of geographic information system (GIS) coordinate systems, live map data, automatic transformation of external references, and faster imagesas well as GPS support. AutoCAD 2015 software added a number of new features as well as an extensive set of APIs. In this session we will introduce these new features as well as dive into the geolocation APIs and develop a sample application demonstrating how developers can use this new functionality to create location-aware applications in AutoCAD software.

Mads Paulin received his PhD in robotics from the University of Southern Denmark in 2004. Before joining Autodesk, Inc., he spent several years working in areas such as computational geometry, 3D scanning and printing, and robotics. Mads is currently a software architect with the Autodesk AutoCAD Team, and his work is focused on graphics and 3D modeling. Mads most recently led the development of the new Geolocation tool in AutoCAD software.

Sheet Set Manager is an electronic database of all your project information, and you can add it to a template file to eliminate the chance for error and populate data throughout the project. In this class we will set up a design project using a template, organize the sheets, and publish the entire set to PDF when complete. At the end of this class you will be able to take your existing company title blocks and create a template to use on your projects, increasing your productivity and efficiency.
AutoCAD software's Dynamic Blocks gives you the ability to save time while reducing the size of your block library. Do you have multiple blocks with slight variations between them? Let's turn them into a single block that we can stretch, rotate, and more. In this class you will learn the basics of creating and editing Dynamic Blocks, and you will come to understand some tools that will enable you to limit Dynamic Block behavior. You will also learn a couple of ways to simplify the process of selecting the desired block, including block tables and visibility states. By the end of this class you will have the skills you need to return to work and create Dynamic Blocks that will increase your efficiency immediately.
In the multiple cultures of the business world of today it has become more important for both published applications and in house applications to be easily used by anyone. Over the past year one of my main tasks has been to localize our projects for multiple cultures. Globalization is designing and developing applications for users in multiple cultures and Localization is the process of customizing data and resources for specific cultures for applications. In this class, we talk about and demonstrate building an AutoCAD® plugin that is localized for multiple cultures. We will create resource files adding strings that are displayed in the application, have commands that are culture aware and setup the user interface including dialogs that handle different cultures. Although this class will be targeted for AutoCAD® applications most of what will be covered applies to any .NET development.
