Sean Finn is a partner of F3 & Associates, Inc. He has been in the 3D-scanning reality capture field for years, and he has filed numerous patents. He has brought value to F3's clients by developing a workflow that combines traditional land surveying, 3D laser scanning, 3D CAD modeling, and 3D printing. The company has over 50 employees and is located in California's San Francisco Bay Area. Sean is an instructor for the land surveyor apprenticeship and gives instruction in specialty courses in 3D scanning technology. He has spoken for both Trimble Navigation, Ltd., and Leica Geosystems on the subject of inventive laser scanning in conferences around the world. Sean's 3D scanning experience is extensive, and he currently oversees 5 3D scanning crews, a reverse engineering team, 2 metrology crews, and 12 land surveying crews, with clients such as Google, Shell Oil Company, Chevron Corporation, Apple Inc., and the Walt Disney Company.
We recently utilized the Panzura cloud storage system to move our data to the cloud. This class will go over how the company ended up getting to this decision and how it has benefited by going to the cloud. We will also cover the buy-in from management and the changes that need to be made in IT to switch from on-prim storage to cloud storage.
