In part 2 of this 2-part class (part 1 taught by Joe Gunn) you will see the production pipeline from start to finish on a commercial spec spot for the HBO show Boardwalk Empire. This class will pick up where part 1 left off, showing how the latest tools and techniques were used to bring this piece to life. The animation and visual effects are complete; now it's time for some lighting. Who knows, the client may even have some changes that need to be quickly addressed before render passes are set up and composited. Throughout both classes you will learn real-world production-proven techniques and timesaving tips that will help artists from any background who use 3ds Max software.

Chad Ashley

As a Creative Director and head of 3D for Digital Kitchen, Chad Ashley has conceptualized, directed, animated, and produced work that has earned numerous industry awards, including a Design Grand Prix at the Cannes International Creativity Festival. With over 15 years of experience in 3D, Chad has created worlds for many adventurous brands, including Estée Lauder Companies, Inc.; Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch); and Cartoon Network. Most recently Chad earned a One Show Silver Pencil for his design work at Los Angeles International Airport. Chad also co-owns A&G Tool Company LLC with Joe Gunn. Since 2010 A&G has created production-proven 3ds Max software tools made for artists, by artists.

Joe Gunn

Joe Gunn is a senior freelance 3D artist based in New York City with more than 10 years of experience. Although his roots in the business started in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he is now busy working at many different studios throughout the world. Joe's client list includes companies such as Uncharted Territory, LLC; Pixomondo; Prime Focus; Blur Studio; Imaginary Forces; Logan; and many more. In 2009 Joe's industry peers recognized him as an Autodesk Master. Joe believes in giving back to the CG community with real-production-based tutorials. He has authored 4 DVD training titles. Joe has worked on many different productions, from feature films like 2012, Fast Five, and Final Destination 5, to award-nominated music videos and more. Joe also co-owns A&G Tool Company LLC with Chad Ashley. Since 2010 A&G has created production-proven 3ds Max software tools made for artists, by artists. He always says, 'If you don't know, you better ask somebody!'
