Description

In this class, we provide a broad overview of the newly released composites software functionality. We focus on Autodesk® Simulation Composite Design software for designing composite structures and on Autodesk® Simulation Composite Analysis software for stress and failure analysis of composite structures. We provide an overview of the capabilities of the software, present case studies, and discuss target markets. We also cover the future direction of the Simulation Composites product line.

Doug Kenik

I was born and raised in Wyoming and attended college at the University of Wyoming where I pursued a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering studying micromechanics of composite materials.Directly after obtaining my Master's degree, I was employed by Firehole Technologies as a software developer and researcher. I spent 5 years at Firehole, the last 2 of which were directed at account management and product development. Firehole was eventually acquired by Autodesk, and now I am a Product Manager for the composites software which was acquired from Firehole.In my spare time I enjoy golfing, being a Crossfit trainer, mountain biking, and various hands on projects.

Dan Milligan

Dan Milligan is a technical sales specialist for the Autodesk simulation team. He has been involved in composite material design and analysis for 6 years as an engineer at Autodesk and previously at Firehole Composites. He is an expert in the finite element analysis of products designed using composite materials and the simulation of composite material failure. He has presented at SAMPE and has taught courses on using software for composite material design and analysis. Dan graduated from the University of Wyoming where he received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
