Description

This class takes a focused look at a couple of workflows in AutoCAD Civil 3D software that use corridors to model surfaces with complex slope geometries. We present several examples from actual grading projects. One example demonstrates the creation of a slope that uses target alignments and profiles to control the placement and grade of a mid-slope bench and drainage channel. The second example shows how to use default and custom subassemblies to model variable height retaining walls.

David Zavislan

David is the CAD manager at NV5, Inc. NV5 is a full-service civil engineering firm with offices in California, Utah, Colorado, Florida and New Jersey. At NV5, David supports the firm's infrastructure design division with design, BIM modeling, and document delivery processes. In addition to support, he also develops CAD tools, training, and company standards. Prior to joining NV5, David was an independent CAD consultant, specializing in civil engineering, surveying, and mapping. Other past work experience includes: structural engineer, staff engineer for a municipal public works department, project engineer, project manager, and as a trainer and consultant for a software reseller. David has also obtained professional civil engineering licenses in California and Colorado.
