Lisa is a Program Manager for Autodesk 360 and has been at Autodesk for 14 years. She started at Autodesk as a Product Support Engineer and then moving onto Quality Assurance and Project Management. Her knowledge of the various aspects of software life-cycle has helped her as a Program Manager to include the views from our customers while defining and driving the Autodesk 360 projects.
Sheila Wakida is Senior Product Manager for Autodesk 360 and Cloud Platform Business Enablement core services: Identity, Metering, and Analytics. She has been with Autodesk since 2010 and started out as one of the first product managers for Cloud Platform. Her teams have been instrumental in developing the infrastructure for the cloud components that power all of the Autodesk 360 Products and Services. Sheila has a diverse background that started out in finance and business with a shift into its applicability into technology. She holds an undergraduate degree is from University of California at Berkeley and will be completing her MBA in Sustainable Enterprise from the School of Business and Leadership at Dominican University of California, in the Spring of 2014.

This presentation will provide an in-depth discussion of fabrication and Level Of Development (LOD) from the 2015 Associated General Contractors (AGC) Building Information Modeling (BIM) Forum LOD Specification. It will address model elements at the different stages in a building lifecycle: design, construction, and ownership. The framework of the discussion will consider the LOD Specification that defines models on a scale of 100 to 500 with a particular focus of LOD 350, which the speaker originally authored and introduced to the LOD Specification committee. The content will discuss how architects, mechanical engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and fabricators use structural element models. This will demonstrate how you can use the newly issued LOD Specification to define team expectations of what should be modeled. We will show practical examples of model detail issues, along with effective approaches to resolve the challenges using the LOD Specification as an early BIM planning tool.

Sir John’s Soane’s Bank of England (built from 1788 to 1833) was destroyed in the 1920 in what is considered by some architectural historians to be the greatest modern architectural travesty. Today, Soane’s Bank of England is revered by architects worldwide for its spectacular use of natural lighting and mesmerizing effects of scale, and inspires the neoclassical architectural approach of Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA). Autodesk, HP, and NVIDIA® have joined forces with RAMSA, CASE, CG Architect, and Sir John Soane Museum to engage the world’s architects to help recreate Soane’s Bank of England in BIM, in the first crowdsourcing project of its kind.
