With its outstanding modeling tool set and its ability to process NURBS geometry, Autodesk Maya software is well suited for the use in concept modeling in the automotive industry. This class demonstrates the typical use of Maya in automotive concept modeling and shows how Maya is positioned in various design pipelines. We will demonstrate the advantages and limitations of the smooth-polygon workflow.

Roland Reyer

Roland Reyer has started in 1992 as an Application Engineer at Wavefront Technologies GmbH in Germany. He became an industry expert for the entire product portfolio of Wavefront Technologies, later Alias | Wavefront, Alias and finally Autodesk. In his role as an application specialist he tested, demonstrated and trained Maya from its very first version. With 20 years product and market experience, Roland now works at Autodesk as a Solutions Engineer for Maya, Maya Composite, Mudbox and Motionbuilder thoughout Europe.

Martin Emila

Martin Emila, born 1971, work for Autodesk since 2008. During his career he strongly focused on conceptual design and visualization. As design engineer he participated on different projects mostly in German speaking countries. Before joining Autodesk, worked for various companies (HP, Whirlpool, Kia Motors…). Martin is currently a member of Autodesk Design, Lifecycle and Simulation Group and as Solution Engineer support in this role customers and Autodesk resellers in EMEA. His focus is on Industrial Design Products with expertise in creating concepts and photo-realistic visualization using SketchBook Designer, Alias, Showcase or 3DS Max/Maya Software. Martin has a Masters Degree in Transportation from the University of Transport and Communication in Zilina, Slovakia.
