Either you've been using AutoCAD® for many years to lay out your facilities and have lots of 2D data to represent your assets, or you are receiving 2D drawings from your suppliers that need to be 3D assets. Either way, you want to quickly reuse what you have already created to make your 3D assets. In this class, we will provide tips and tricks and show you the best techniques for creating 3D assets from 2D data.
Experienced AutoCAD® users who are doing facilities design work and want to continue future workflows in 3D
Mike Jolicoeur is the Technical Product Manager for the Factory Design Suite. In his 14 year tenure at Autodesk, Mike has had roles as Senior Applications Engineer, Technical Account Manager for Global Automotive Accounts, and Product Designer for Factory Design Suite. His work experience includes mechanical design, facilities layout, process design, fixture design, and project management.
Mike has a lot of experience in helping customers solve difficult problems using Autodesk tools. He has over 24 years of CAD design experience, and is fluent in AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, Vault, and AutoCAD Mechanical, and has a good working knowledge of AutoCAD Architectural and AutoCAD MEP, as well as several other tools in the CAD industry.
Ford Motor Company presents its experiences in attaining one CAD standard available 24/7 on six continents. Learn the ups and downs of this process. We will talk about which products and solutions were successful and which ones "hit the road." Is it really possible to implement CAD standards on this large a scale? Yes, but there were a few "speed bumps" and "potholes" along the way (and no, you can’t "bail out"). Attend this class to hear how you too can drive your CAD standards into the fast lane and put them into overdrive.
Retrofitting is a key component in the lifecycle of every factory and plant. In this class, we will explore the latest Reality Capture technologies and how they apply to retrofitting plant and factory facilities. Different tools and technologies will be reviewed that are key to dealing with Reality Capture data that help in successful retrofitting. A view into the future will also be given on how Reality Capture is expected to change the workflows of the user of the Autodesk portfolio products.
Mitch Free, CEO of MFG.com, will host this informative class on how the Internet has and continues to change the world of manufacturing. He will show how the Internet has helped designers, engineers, and sourcing professionals reach out and develop relationships with suppliers. Mitch will talk about the impact this new way of doing business is having in the world of manufacturing.
