If looking to improve the general health of your Vault SQL Server implementation, improve performance, or automate backups, this course is for you. It’s geared towards Vault administrators looking to improve maintenance in their SQL Server environments using SQL Server Maintenance Plans. As maintenance plans are not something that is installed or implemented with out of the box solutions from Autodesk or Microsoft, we will provide a suggested solution for use with SQL Server. We will cover the basics of implementing a SQL Server maintenance plan to keep Autodesk Vault SQL Server Databases running at their most optimum levels, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and beyond. Users will have a base maintenance plan to get started and will walk away with the knowledge to modify that plan to suit their own unique environments. This session features Vault Professional, Vault Basic, and Vault Workgroup.
Vault administrators and CAD Managers looking to ensure database health in their relevant systems and gain knowledge related to SQL Server database maintenance.

The First Order has risen and will stop at nothing to get to your data. Vault software security can be complex and confusing if you do not understand how it works. This class is essential for administrators who want to learn the different security models within Vault software. The main focus of the class will be object- and lifecycle-level security. Learn how object-level security sets or denies access to objects for users or groups. Learn how lifecycle-level security sets or denies access to objects based on the state of the object. Finally, learn how object- and lifecycle-state security are combined to work together to control object access, which is new in Vault 2017 software. Leave with the knowledge needed to awaken your security needs and restore peace and justice to your Vault software. Defend against the First Order. This session features Vault Professional, Vault Office, and Vault Workgroup.
Autodesk Vault 2018 includes a large number of customer-requested enhancements aimed at improving design workflows, engineering efficiency and administrative control. This class will give you an overview of some of these enhancements as well as a sneak preview of future planned functionality for Autodesk Vault. This session features Vault Professional.
We are inviting you to this participatory research session to innovate and shape the future of Inventor software—and really enhance your productivity. We will use several LUMA methods to facilitate our discussions. The class will begin with a “What’s on Your Radar” practice to help attendees discuss Inventor software problems and assign them with weights. Then attendees will generate wide-ranging ideas on those pieces with no constraints in a Creative Matrix practice given a short amount of time. We’ll pick some of the ideas combining with our own preprepared ideas for a “Buy a Feature” practice to identify the most valuable areas for the Inventor Team to focus on. The Inventor UX Team will facilitate the entire session. Attendees need only to free their minds and speak out what the ideal Inventor software could be. This session features Inventor Professional and Vault Professional.
This class will cover industry best practices and workflows for 3D substation design projects utilizing Inventor Professional software and the Substation Design Solutions toolkit. In addition, we will cover integration of Vault Professional software to maximize the efficiency of the 3D modeling processes. We will detail processes and procedures to ensure consistency, flexibility, and overall usability of 3D models, and we’ll learn how to change the way substation designs are currently done. We will present Vault categories, lifecycles, and states as a means to demonstrate utilization of 3D model data and how it can be integrated into existing systems to facilitate custom reporting and data analytics. This session features Inventor Professional and Vault Professional.
Have you ever wondered why managing your AutoCAD Electrical software libraries has to be so difficult? What about your catalog database? Over the course of this class, you will learn how to capitalize on Vault software to manage your libraries, your process of creating and editing your library symbols, and much more. We will also discuss the new SQL method of managing your catalog. This session features AutoCAD Electrical and Vault Professional.
Sun Tzu posits, “Every battle is won or lost before it’s ever fought.” When it comes to product lifecycle management and product data management (PLM/PDM) adoption in your company, no truer words have ever been spoken. Setting the executive stage, preparing and scoping the project(s), and defining key adoption milestones and criteria are crucial components to transforming your organization into a global manufacturing juggernaut. Experts from Autodesk, Inc., will teach you how to approach the definition, scoping, estimating, and adoption of PLM/PDM processes in your organization. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of how Autodesk Global Services approaches helping you get there with Fusion Lifecycle software, Vault software, and our many authoring tools. Your competitors are all chasing “design anywhere, build everywhere.” We’re here to help you get there first! This session features PLM 360 (now Fusion Lifecycle), Fusion Lifecycle, and Vault Professional.
Join a roundtable discussion on the challenges and solutions for managing CAD standards. Engage in a discussion on how we are, how we could, and how we should be managing block libraries, line styles, and templates—both internally and between organizations. We will delve into technologies currently on offer, from AutoCAD software standard functionalities to Vault software, Buzzsaw software, Network shares, and third-party technology, and we’ll explore the options around custom development. This session features AutoCAD and Vault Professional.<br/><br/>
The future of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is closed loop lifecycle management (CL2M). With the availability of cost-effective radio frequency identification (RFID) sensors to get real-time data, and automatic receivers linked with databases, we can make use of the Internet of Things (IoT) to enhance the built environment. To use CL2M in projects, we have to start within the design phase (beginning of life), and then use this data in the maintenance phase (middle of life). In this course, we will model and use data for a tunnel design and construct project to ensure the requirements and the lifetime of prestressed parts. With the help of Vault software, AutoCAD Civil 3D software, and Navisworks software, you will learn how to make use of real-time sensor data inside of your BIM models. Using these tools, you can implement RFID tags in your design (for example, Dynamic corridor solids with property data) and connect to external databases (in this example, Excel) communicating with sensors used in the field to measure construction requirements and feeding this info back into the lifecycle. This session features Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Vault Professional. AIA Approved
