James Vandezande is the director of design technology at HOK and a member of the project delivery board. He helps lead HOK’s buildingSMART initiatives, and is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in the firm’s design and delivery processes. Vandezande serves on the leadership committee for Associated General Contractors BIMForum, and he has lectured at many industry events, including Autodesk University, Construction Management Association of America BIM Conference, Engineering News-Record (ENR) FutureTech, and the American Institute of Architects National convention. Based in New York, he is the founder of the NYC Revit Users Group and is an adjunct lecturing professor at New York University. Vandezande has also fulfilled leadership roles in the development of both the National BIM Standard-US (NBIMS) and the Level of Development (LOD) Specification. He is an author of the popular Mastering Revit Architecture book series.
