Conference registrants who choose to stay at the official conference hotels, the Mandalay Bay Hotel or THEhotel, are assigned rooms on a first-come, first-served basis until all available rooms are filled.
Registrants may also stay at the nearby Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Hard Rock Hotel, and MGM Grand Hotel at special rates. Shuttles will be provided to and from the conference from Tuesday through Thursday.
Note: Do not contact the hotel directly. Reserve your hotel accommodations through AU registration. Special package rates, reservations, and extensions to your hotel stay are only available this way.
Las Vegas is served by McCarran International Airport (LAS) with more than 30 air carriers and 1,000 flights daily. McCarran offers direct flights to more than 100 U.S. cities as well as direct flights or convenient connections to international cities. The airport has free Wi-Fi.
Special Delta Airline Rates for AU Attendees
For airline reservations and ticketing to AU 2012, Autodesk has set up a special deal with Delta Airlines. To reserve a flight at a special rate, do one of the following:
- Go to Delta's Book a Flight page and be sure to enter NMETS in the Meeting Event Code field.
- Call the Delta Meeting Network Reservations for Autodesk at 800-328-1111. Note that a Direct Ticketing Charge applies when you book by phone.

Ground transportation to and from McCarran Airport, located just minutes from the hotel and conference, is easy and inexpensive. Free shuttle service is also provided to and from the conference, Monday through Thursday, between the Mandalay Bay and other conference hotels.

Residents of most countries now need a visa to travel to the United States. Confirm current visa requirements with your local U.S. embassy or consulate.
All travelers should be familiar with current U.S. visa requirements.
Be sure to allow plenty of time for the visa application process—the wait time for getting an embassy or consulate appointment can be several months long. Check the consulate website for visa wait times.
Determine If You Need an Invitation Letter
Your embassy may also require that you submit an "invitation letter" before it will issue you a U.S. entry visa. To obtain an invitation letter as an AU attendee:
- During AU 2012 registration, in Step 2 choose Yes to the question “Do you need an invitation letter to obtain a United States travel visa?” Be prepared to provide your passport and embassy information.
- Only after you have submitted your registration, email the information below to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Legal First Name (as it appears on your passport)
- Legal Last Name (as it appears on your passport)
- Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy)
- Country of Residence
- Passport Number
- Passport Expiration Date (mm/dd/yyyy)

Invitation letters will be processed as soon as all of the required information is received. Note that visa letters will not be processed for guests.
Become Familiar with the Visa Waiver Program
Citizens and eligible nationals of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries may apply for advance authorization to travel to the United States under the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), which is accessible via the Internet.
All VWP travelers are required to obtain an electronic travel authorization prior to boarding a carrier to travel by air or sea to the U.S. under the VWP.
