* Datasets need to be provided for hands-on labs ONLY. These are large files that the AU team pre-loads onto the lab computers for use during the class. For example, if you're teaching a lab about Revit, you might upload a dataset that is a complete file of a building and then use that data while you are teaching your lab.

‡ PowerTrack speakers must submit drafts of their handouts for review to the PowerTrack leader.Those deadlines are as follows:

  • September 9, 2009 – First draft due.
  • September 30, 2009 – Final revision due.
  • October 28, 2009 – Final version uploaded.

AU 2009 Required Templates

Please use the official conference templates for the production of your PowerPoint presentations and class handouts and bring the final version of your presentation to the class on a USB flash drive.

  • Each template provides instructions for setting up your class materials.
  • The presentation you upload will be shared with the AU Online community, so please make sure that if you make any changes once you have uploaded, that you go back and upload the final version.
  • AU speakers are responsible for loading their presentations onto the classroom computer.

Handouts

Instructions are included in the handout template. Please follow them carefully to maintain a consistent look for all AU handouts.

Download the Class Handout template:

Upload your handouts in PDF format no later than October 28, 2009.

PowerPoint Presentations

Each presentation template includes:

  • Title slide
  • Examples of a dark background slide and a white background slide
  • How to change the image on your Title slide
  • Closing slide (with the AU logo)

Download the appropriate industry template or use the generic version if none of these apply:

Upload your presentation no later than October 28, 2009.

Classroom AV Setup and Computer Specifications

Room Setup

Each room will have a hardwire Internet connection and the following AV setup:

  • Front projection screen and LCD projector (sized appropriately for the room up to 1280x1024)
  • Wireless lavalier microphone
  • Audio mixer (connected to the house sound system)
  • Computer audio connection
  • 1 x 4 VGA switcher (allows up to four laptop connections to the projector)

Computers

AU will make one of the following computers available in each classroom or session hall:

  • HP Z600 Workstation
  • Dell T5500 Workstation
  • Dell T7500 Workstation

Each computer will have the following software:

  • Microsoft® Windows® XP with:
    • Service Pack 2
    • All critical updates as of November 2009
  • Microsoft® Office 2007 including:
    • Word®, Excel®, Access®, PowerPoint® and Outlook®
    • All critical updates as of November 2009
  • Microsoft® Forefront™ Client Security
  • Adobe® Acrobat® Reader
  • Microsoft®.Net Framework 3.5
  • Symantec™ AntiVirus
