PowerTracks

A PowerTrack is a series of intermediate to advanced classes, sequenced throughout the week, that focus on a particular product or topic. Each class builds on the previous ones in the series, providing unique, in-depth training that is simply not possible in a single class.

AutoCAD® Design Suite

This PowerTrack gives you an broad exposure into this wide-ranging software portfolio—including AutoCAD® Raster Design, Autodesk® Showcase®, and Autodesk® 3ds Max® Design software—showing you how to they work together to improve your design workflow.

Autodesk® Alias

This PowerTrack will teach you how Autodesk® Alias® software works with other tools in an end-to-end workflow, helping you advance your creative design process using these latest innovations for sketching, modeling, surfacing, and visualization.

Autodesk® Simulation Moldflow

This PowerTrack shows you how to increase your productivity with Autodesk® Simulation Moldflow® software. Learn how to validate and optimize the design of plastic parts and injection molds, and communicate results quickly and easily to colleagues and customers. This PowerTrack is one of the year's premier technical events for plastics designers and should not be missed by any Autodesk Moldflow user.

BIM for Construction

This PowerTrack focuses on using more than 2 applications within Autodesk® Building Design and on multiple team members or project stakeholders working together. These classes will demonstrate how you can get more power out of your use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to manage construction activities. Learn about workflows, best practices, and process improvements. The PowerTrack addresses various levels of skill so that both beginners and advanced users can benefit.

Energy Optimization for Retrofits

This PowerTrack illustrates how Autodesk’s computer simulation software can be used to enhance the performance of existing buildings. Classes will walk you through converting existing facility documentation into an intelligent model; using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to evaluate energy efficiency measures and streamline workflows in detailed energy models; calibrating detailed energy models with a building’s utility data and energy management system to better evaluate a building’s performance and opportunities for energy conservation; and seeing the effects of airflows and a building’s surrounding environment on the performance of high performance HVAC systems using computational fluid dynamics analyses.

Infrastructure Design Suite

If you already have Autodesk® Infrastructure Design Suite in your office and you don’t know where to begin, or if you are considering moving to the Infrastructure Design Suite but you don’t know how it will enhance your workflows, this PowerTrack will take you through a project from planning to design and right through construction.

Learn how to use tools such as Autodesk® Infrastructure Modeler, AutoCAD® Map 3D, AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, Autodesk 3ds Max® Design, Autodesk Navisworks® and Autodesk® Revit Structure® software to bring BIM for infrastructure to life on a road project. Learn how to take advantage of Autodesk® Vault Collaboration AEC software for your project management and data sharing; as well as elements of the Autodesk® 360 cloud-based platform for collaboration, analysis, and more.

Autodesk® PLM 360

This PowerTrack will teach you everything you need to know to setup, deploy, and customize Autodesk® PLM 360, so you can get the most out of your investment. You will learn about creating and modifying apps, customizing workflow, scripting, and finally integrating it all with your business systems.

Technical Director

Good technical directors are the perfect blend between artist and developer. They know how to use tools like Autodesk® 3ds Max® and Autodesk® Maya® software inside and out and can step in and create custom tools to smooth the production process. In short, they can be the artist’s best friend in any complicated production. In this PowerTrack, veterans in the entertainment industry will show you a number of techniques from the worlds of film, games, and TV development. Learn about scripting tools and designing animation rigs from the people who do it every day.

Utility Design

In this PowerTrack, you will learn how utilities can take full advantage of Autodesk® Infrastructure Design Suite, along with industry standards, and integration technologies from the Autodesk® 360 cloud-based platform for distribution design and substation design. Together, these technologies and standards can deliver an intelligent model that integrates design data into a utility’s enterprise system, making design data accessible to all users in the utility when and where they need it. Finally, join Autodesk’s Jeff Saunders for an interactive lecture, and take the opportunity to collaborate with other users on product capabilities and implementation, on where future technologies may take us, and more.

Visual Effects

Visual Effects are a big part of the entertainment industry. From film and games to design visualization, everyone is putting more effort into visual effects (VFX) to make their projects stand out. In this PowerTrack, expert visual effects artists will take you through the process of creating a number of typical effects, including tips and tricks and real-world examples. Take advantage of what these experts have learned while dealing with everything from rapid turnaround low budget TV projects to $200 million dollar movies.
