About AU Virtual Classes
- When do AU Virtual classes start?
All virtual classes become available November 27, 2012.
The class catalog preview will be available November 15, 2012.
- What types of classes are available through AU Virtual?
AU Virtual features beginning and intermediate technical classes, tips and tricks. Classes are in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. You can view the class catalog preview.
In addition to classes, you will be able to view live-streamed webcasts of the AU 2012 Keynote Address and Innovation Forums.
- Will the AU 2012 Keynote Address and Innovation Forums be available through AU Virtual?
Yes. We will live stream these events. You do not need to be signed in or have an AU member account to view the live-stream webcasts. View the Live from AU schedule to add these important events to your calendar. Consider asking others in your office to get together to watch the live-streamed events.
We will also make recordings of these events available on AUTV several days after the conference.
- How long are AU Virtual classes?
All AU Virtual classes are 45 to 60 minutes long. They are presented in shorter segments for convenient viewing.
- Do I need to watch virtual classes at a certain time or reserve a space?
No. All AU Virtual 2012 classes will be available on demand. No reservations are necessary, and you can view the classes anytime starting November 27, 2012.
The AU Las Vegas 2012 Keynote Address and Innovation Forums are streamed live at specific times. We will have a webcast schedule available soon.
- How long will the AU Virtual classes be available?
The AU Virtual classes will be available through the AU Virtual player for about two weeks. After that, the classes willl join the catalog of online classes. Classes are typically retained for two or three years.
- Are classes presented only in English?
AU Virtual 2012 includes virtual classes offered in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Live-streamed webcasts and AUTV events are in English.
- Can I ask the presenter a question?
Please do! While viewing a class in the AU Virtual interface, click the Class Q&A tab and type your question. Presenters will answer within 24 hours for at least the first month following the date when the class is made available.
Your answer will be displayed beneath the Q&A tab on the page for the class.
Note: The Class Q&A tab is available only while you are viewing a class.
- Can I download classes and watch them later?
Yes, you can download the individual mp4 files that include the class segments. After you download the files, you must add the .mp4 extension to the filename so your player will recognize them.
Classes remain available on the online learning section of the AU website for at least two years after the AU Virtual event, so you can always watch them later.
- Can I recommend a class?
If you find a class valuable, click the Facebook Recommend button. Your recommendation and a link to the class will appear on your Facebook page. You must have your Facebook account linked to your AU member account.
- How do I evaluate a class?
Your class evaluations are very important to Autodesk, so please take time to evaluate the classes you view. While you are viewing a class in the AU VIrtual interface, click Evaluate to fill out a short survey about the class.
