Tuesday, December 1, 7:00 a.m.–7:45 a.m.  – Leading and Managing Online and Face-to-Face Communities

Do you currently lead or would you like to create an online or face-to-face community? This course will inspire you and will showcase case studies and tools that make a successful community.

Grab your breakfast and come learn about content, speakers/videos, and the importance of strong leadership. You will leave the course with a list of content ideas from other leaders as well as some resources that will make your job as leader easier. This course is one of three community courses being taught at AU.

Wednesday, December 2, 7:00 a.m.–7:45 a.m. – Creating a Community Strategic Plan Workshop

Whether you are part of a newly-established local community or a long-standing user group, a common challenge is the ability to sustain a successful community beyond the initial years of its existence. Does your community have the infrastructure in place to survive departures of key contributors?

There are two elements critical to maintaining a successful community over the long run. First is to establish and maintain your community strategic plan. The second is to establish and execute guidelines regarding succession planning. This course teaches how to create and maintain an effective strategic plan. During the course, attendees will develop a strategic plan for their community. This course is one of three community courses being taught at AU.

Thursday, December 3, 7:00 a.m.–7:45 a.m. It’s All About the Members

Lincoln’s famous words “...of the people, by the people, for the people...” describes community at Autodesk. Community is about the members, not the leaders or sponsors. Join us to learn how to effectively “talk with”, question, or poll your membership. This course is one of three community courses being taught at AU. Attendees will develop skills in research and communication techniques and share examples.
