Class Audience
Application developers and Revit users interested in Revit MEP programming. An intermediate understanding of .NET programming and general knowledge of the Revit MEP product is assumed
Class Description
Learn to use the MEP-specific Revit API features introduced in Revit MEP 2009 and greatly expanded and enhanced in Revit MEP 2010. Analyze and modify Revit MEP models. Address all MEP domains including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Analyze and create MEP systems and elements including ducts, pipes, fittings, and connectors. Implement in-depth analysis and traversal of MEP systems. Make use of the new part creations methods to implement automatic splitting of parts, obstruction avoidance, and routing automation. This class assumes basic knowledge of Revit programming.
Key Learning
- Create, manage, analyze and modify HVAC, electrical, and plumbing Revit MEP models
- Understand and reuse functionality provided by the Revit SDK samples to create, traverse, auto-route, and reroute pipe and duct systems to automatically avoid obstructions
- Automatically calculate, size, and report performance of an HVAC system based on room requirements
- Traverse pipe, duct, and electrical systems, including fittings, connectors, equipment, and fixtures to perform HVAC, electrical, and plumbing analysis
- Create MEP-specific family types including duct, pipe, and electrical connectors
