Class Description

This presentation will show how to use 3ds Max modeling tools to build iterative parametric design systems. In this session, we will cover 3ds Max geometry types (Editable Mesh, Poly, Patch and NURBS), combine modifiers to build complex systems, use wire parameters to quickly make geometric patterns, and provide an introduction to MaxScript. In this session, you will learn to reduce the amount of explicit modeling, and instead build flexible design systems so you can focus more effort on design.

Class Highlights

  • Maximizing the use of primitives

  • A thorough understanding of the geometry types within 3ds Max (Mesh, Poly, Patch, Nurbs)

  • A thorough command of the 3ds Max modifier list

  • Introduction to wire parameters and expressions controllers

  • How to find, install, and use MaxScripts and free plug-ins to extend 3ds Max

Hi Eric, I did not make a hand out. I did make a separate video explaining how i build the model though. That can be found here http://designreform.net/2009/01/26/autodesk-university-design-slam-and-video-of-how-i-built-the-bridge/ Sorry for not making a hand out :(
